Time Span Search

Usage

The Time Span field will accept any unambiguous time span. This field is not required, and will automatically default to 01/01/1978 for the start time, and today's date for the end time. The following is a list of accepted date formats:

Seasonal Search

Search over the same period over consecutive years

A Seasonal Search from 5/15/2005 to 8/10/2008 will search for data
from 2005-05-15 to 2005-08-10 AND
from 2006-05-15 to 2006-08-10 AND
from 2007-05-15 to 2007-08-10 AND
from 2008-05-15 to 2008-08-10.

Cross Year (Winter) Searches

If you specify a Start Month that is later in the year than the End Month, then the search engine will assume you mean to cross over the year boundary. A Seasonal Search from 11/15/2005 to 3/2/2008 will search for data
from 2005-11-15 to 2006-03-02 AND
from 2006-11-15 to 2007-03-02 AND
from 2007-11-15 to 2008-03-02.
